What you can do with Tincan
Using Tincan, you could create a shared whiteboard, a two-way video conference application, or add multi-way live text chat to your site. You might also create an online presentation application, a live broadcaster, or a customer branded video player for large video files stored on a Tincan server. Or you might want to save bandwidth by developing an application that can push live-data, such as stock quotes, auction status, sports scores, or inventory levels, to a large number of clients, without the need for polling.

Using Tincan requires the use of Flash MX authoring software in addition to Flash Player 6 client software. Flash MX authoring is now commercially available, however Trial versions can also be downloaded from Macromedia. Tincan can also work with Salsa to give the Tincan server access to a wide range of data sources, such as ColdFusion, J2EE, .NET and more.

This release of Tincan is nearly feature complete. As you work with the beta, please keep in mind that Tincan hasn't been tuned for performance, so the performance you experience in this release will only improve!

还是没搞明白

Tincan可以用来做多端视频即时交换吗？

简单的说，Salsa就是已经推出的Flash Remoting技术，可以让Flash直接调用Web应用，实现操作数据库等功能。即将发布的Tincan可以实现视频聊天，网络会议之类的功能，FMX的Video和Audio对象就有用武之地了。

顧名思義Flash Remoting(salsa)更注重client跟server
而Flash Comm(tincan)更注重client跟client
它們是相輔相成，mm面向兩個方向的產品，這是我個人的理解

salsa重点在数据交换 ，tincan 重点在多媒体通信 。

我还是不了解这东西耶，好象好深奥的哦！
不知道mm在这方面又想出什么新花招来！！
不过我还是真的希望flash强大起来。

看了“痒痒”的教程，

我个人感觉，

flash以前停留在前台动画，

到了flash MX大大加强了Action，使得成为可编程的动画，

当然也可以实现和后台交互，但实现起来比较麻烦，

salsa技术，可以大大方便前台界面和后台数据之间的交互，看了痒痒的教程，好像很多地方仅仅需要简单的绑定就可以了，真是太好了！

另外 MX 家族学习了 OFFICE 家族的做法，家族成员之间数据交换及其方便，协同完成同一工程（任务）使得网站各个元素无缝衔接。

salsa加强了FLASH与CF的连接能力。Flash Comm具体好象在视频和音频实现上加强了FLASH的能力。AS里的一些视频函数好象更有用处了

我还不知道要从何着手学这东东!!! 哎 衰!!!

太夸张了吧,我想这玩艺究竟有多强大用了才知道.不过无双发布的英文和中文都看不大懂,能不能请无双具体说一下.
